Air India trounce IBA

Kannur, Apr 22 (UNI) Air India, Mumbai trounced Instituto Buenos Aires 5-1 in the Second E K Nayanar Memorial Gold Cup International Football Tournament here today.

In a one-sided Pool B match, Paresh Shivakar, who was declared the man of the match, struck thrice while Surojit Roy and Bashiru M Abass completed the tally for the winners. For losers, Federico Rodrguez reduced the margin in the 62nd minute.

Right from the beginning, the airmen unleashed attack against the IBA and Surojit Roy drew the first blood in the 18th minute. Later, Shivakar pumped in three more goals at 24th, 37th and 89th minutes, capitalizing the defensive lapse of the rivals. Roy netted another in the 56th minute.

Argentina could have scored three more goals but their strikers muissed all the chances to score.
