Youth Akali Dal to be reorganised after PRIs elections-Kang

Rupnagar, Apr 21 (UNI) Youth Akali Dal would be reorganised after the elections to Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) in the state, the youth wing president Kiranbir Singh Kang said here today.

Talking to mediapersons, he said that that the entire organisational set up of the Youth Akali Dal stood dissolved and youth Akali workers, who had suffered atrocities during the Congress government and other dedicated workers would be given due place in the organizational set up after the reorganisation.

In reply to a question, Mr Kang said that they would demand party tickets for the Youth Akali Dal for the ensuing Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad elections.

He said that he would perform his duties as Youth Akali Dal president as a missionary and he would strength the party at village and ward level.

He justified the government's decision to file an application in the court for the withdrawal of a case against him under section 321 of CrPC saying that the Special Investigating Team(SIT) headed by a DIG had given him a clean chit after re-investigating the case. The SIT has found the case against him absolutely false, he added.

Mr Kang, who was here in connection with the court case said that he had full faith in judiciary and he would come clean in the case.

Meanwhile, the court of Additional Sessions Judge Rupnagar G S Saran has adjourned the hearing of government's application for withdrawal of case against Mr Kang and his supporters to April 28.

A witness in the case Surinder Singh has filed a written reply to the application in the court opposing the withdrawal of case against Mr Kang.
