Yogesh wins Shimla Motorcycle Challenge

{image-motor bike race_21042008.jpg www.oneindia.com}Shimla, Apr 21: Chandigarh lad Yogesh Lakhani won the second round of the Shimla Motorcycle Challenge, while Sanjay Kumar and Piyush Chauhan topped in the Group D (open and Himachal category) of the event.

Ludhiana's Rajan Sidhu, who was leading the pack after the first round, finished second to Lakhani, on a 7.5 km track in Shoghi, near Shimla, in the second round of the challenge that concluded yesterday.

The last and final round of the event would be held on August 24, later this year.

Yogesh is at the top of the table with 18 points followed closely by Sidhu, Parminder Thakur and H L Sharma, Narinder Pal Saini and Honey Narula in Group C overall category.

Local Lad Piyush Chauhan is leading in the Himachal category followed by Saurav Vyas, Vivek Arora, Sunil Chauhan, Rakesh Verma, Chirag Thakur, Sun Dercha Sherpa and Amandeep Sharma.

Jammu's Sanjay Kumar Sharma is leading the table in Group D (open) category, with Pradeep Majotra, Viket Sharma, Sanal Nair and Amardev Singh in tow.

As many as 19 motorcyclists from Delhi, Chandigarh, Ludihana, Jammu and Himachal Pradesh participated in the event.

The event is supported by Himachal Pradesh Tourism Department and Department of Youth and Sports Services.
