New Delhi, Apr 21: As Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati continues to reel out threat to witdhraw support to the UPA government at the Centre, the Congress today said it did not have any 'unnecessary' concern over her 'statement made from time to time. "She has been issuing threat precisely because of the initiative taken by Mr Rahul Gandhi to articulate the aspirations of the dalits and the downtrodden. This initiative may be rattling her politically," AICC Spokesman Manish Tewari told mediapersons.
He said Ms Mayawati's threat could only be seen as "instinctive reaction" and not a "thought-out decision." Asked why the Congress was not projecting a Dalit leader in place of Mr Gandhi, to take on Ms Mayawati, Mr Tewari said ''The Congress does not believe in community-specific, class-specific and region-specific leadership."
