Prime accused in mass murder turn hostile in court
Amroha, Apr 21 (UNI) The two prime accused in the mass murder of seven people at Babankheri in Jyotiba Phule Nagar turned hostile today in a local court and denied any involvement in the crime.
Shabnum and Salim, who earlier accepted the murder charges, turned hostile in front of Chief Judicial Magistrate Mahendra Singh and charged the police with forcing them to accept the allegations.
On April 14, Shaukat Ali and his six family members were axed to death.
DGP Vikram Singh said Shaukat's daughter Shabnum and her lover Salim had committed the crime as the family refused to accept their relationship.
Shabnum offered sedative mixed in tea to the family and when they fell unconscious Salim hacked them to death, the DGP said.
During interrogation, the duo had confessed to the crime.
