Allahabad, Apr 21 (UNI) Senior journalist Shyamendra Kushwaha, who went missing under mysterious circumstances on the night of April 5, returned home safely late last night.
Shyamendra, who was associated with Hindi daily 'Dainik Jagran,' today told newspersons ''I myself left the city in depression. I felt that all bonds in this world are useless, therefore, I decided to leave my house and the city.'' ''I debouched from the office on the night of April 5 and took a bus to Lucknow. After spending whole day in Lucknow, I went to Haridwar, where I met a saint, who taught me the meaning of life.
Then I rang up my home and told a false story about my kidnapping. I went to Delhi from Haridwar, from where I have come to Allahabad by Mahananda Express. But now I am feeling guilty,'' Shyamendra told reporters.
A kidnapping case was registered by police on April 6. Different media organisations had shown deep concern on the issue and staged dharna and gherao. The protestors had also handed over a memorandum to the Governor in this regard.
