Lord's could host IPL Champions League finale

By Staff

London, Apr 21 (UNI) The Lord's is likely to play host to the grand finale of the IPL Champions League- the international venture of the cash rich event- scheduled to be held in September this year.

The IPL organisers are reportedly in talks with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to arrange for the final.

The Champions Leauge will feature the top two teams from the IPL and the leading sides from the domestic Twenty20 competitions of England, Australia, South Africa and Pakistan.

Dubai is also one of the likely venues to organise the final but since the ground is not likely to be ready in time, the hosting rights could well go to the Lord's.

However, ECB officials have declined to comment on the issue.

''Not so fast, not so fast!'' a senior ECB representative was quoted as saying by The Daily Telegraph.

Meanwhile, The crammed international schedule is reportedly making it difficult for the ECB to work out the week's slot that the IPL organisers are looking for in their summer season.
