New York, Apr 21 : US First Lady Laura Bush and daughter Jenna launched their first children's book written together, titled 'Read All About It!'
The book revolves around a little boy Tyrone, who hates story time. Then something strange happens. The book comes alive and Tyrone and his friends are off to solve a mysterious disappearance.
Laura Bush also opened up about what inspired her and her daughter to come up with the idea of book.
"We thought about it before Jenna did "Ana's Story" [a young adult title]. We started discussing it based on stories I used to tell Barbara and Jenna about students I taught and stories Jenna told me about students she taught," the New York Daily News quoted her, as saying.
Daughter Jenna added: "It was before my book tour that we started writing. I came home from Latin America and we had the summer free because I was teaching and she was being First Lady."
"Of course being First Lady never really stops. And we had a week in May and I thought we should put together a narrative arc," she added.
For this mother-daughter duo, working together was a great experience.
"It's great. You never know how that might be but since we had read to each other for so many years and books have always been a special part of our lives, writing one together was actually a lot of fun and easier than you might think," said Laura
And for Jenna working with her mother was a unique experience because not many family members get to work in a creative collaboration together.
"We work in similar ways but to see her come up with these ideas and have these creative epiphanies was really fun. She's a really strict editor but I knew that because she edited all my papers," Jenna added.
