Solan, Apr 21 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today said his government will make efforts to fill all vacancies under sports category in various government departments.
The award money of sportspersons representing the state in National and International sports events would also be ehhanced, he added.
Addressing the closing ceremony of the four-day 34th All India Electricity Sports Control Board Kabaddi Tournament at Solan, he said three per cent reservation for sportspersons had been provided different departments.
Mr Dhumal said all the departments would be directed to clear the backlog of the vacancies so that fair representation was given to those who had brought laurels to the state with their outstanding performances.
Referring to enhancement of the award money of sportspersons who had represented the state in national and international sport events, he said his government would enhance the cash award as it would go a long way in inspiring the sports persons to perform better.
Meanwhile, Karnataka Power Transmission Limited Company was declared as the winner of the tournament, while Maharashtra State Electricity Board was declared the Runner-up and the third spot was held jointly by Haryana Power Sports and Punjab State Electricity Board.
Later, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of the Ayurvedic Hospital, estimated to cost Rs 3.40 crore on the Solan National Highway which he hoped would strengthen the health infrastructure.
