Jalandhar, Apr 21 (UNI) Punjab Governor Gen SF Rodrigues (retd) has called for restructuring of education curriculum, with focus on the inculcation of moral values and nationalistic fervour to ensure that students discharge their duties to the nation and society at large, as concerned individuals.
''Our education system must lay special stress on producing good human beings with qualities of head and heart and care and concern for societal issues,''Governor said, while presiding over the golden jubilee celebrations of St Joseph Convent School here last night.
''Our academic programmes must encourage our children to go to our roots, rich traditions and heritage and make them capable to contribute to take our country to its rightful place in the comity of nations,''he asserted.
Advocating the need for sustained efforts to revive our glorious traditions of education, the Governor said that our education system got a serious set back during the British Raj and said that this needed multi-prolonged approach, to sensitize the teachers and develop core values in the students through varios learning processes.
