AWBI Vice Chairman passes away
Chennai, Apr 21 (UNI) Veteran animal welfare activist and Vice Chairman of the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI), V N Appaji Rao died here yesterday following a massive heart attack.
He was 72. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
Dr Rao was engaged in preparation of various animal welfare policies and drafting various rules when the end came at 1100 hrs yesterday.
Graduated from the Madras Veterinary College, he had served in various capacities in the fields of teaching and research for about three decades.
He was a well known specialist in small animal practice and had been the Consultant of Southern Railway Police Force(RPF) dog squads and closely associated with Tamil Nadu police dog squads.
