Guwahati, Apr 20: Two suspected ULFA cadres were arrested and ten Programmable Time Devices (PTD) recovered from them in the heart of Assam's capital city Guwahati today.
Guwahati Additional Superintendent of Police Debojit Deuri informed that the suspicious behaviour of the two persons, allegedly ULFA cadres, at the ticket counter of Network Travels in Paltan Bazar area prompted police to check them.
The names the two men gave did not tally with those printed on their tickets and the checking of their luggage led to the recovery of ten PTDs.
Mr Deuri said the arrested men had confessed working for the ULFA and had come to Guwahati from Kakopathar in Tinsukia district to take delivery of the PTDs. They were scheduled to return tonight.
The Additional SP said police were verifying the statements of the arrested and investigating the matter.
