Property worth Rs 60 crores saved form fire
Srinagar, Apr 20: The Fire and Emergency Services Command (FESC) has saved property worth Rs 60 crore besides more than 800 houses and other structures and 136 animals from fire in the frontier district of Kupwara.
An official spokesman said the information was given during a week-long awareness campaign organised by the FESC across the district.
He said this year's slogan was ''Fire Preservation-Do it for life''.
The spokesman said the Assistant Director, FESC, Kupwara has informed that during last fiscal valuable property worth Rs 60 crore was saved by the department.
Besides 188 houses, 67 buildings, 72 kuthors, 236 shops, 241 huts, 199 trees, 136 animal were protected from fire during the period.
