Maoists could provide cultural rights to Nepal King
Kathmandu, Apr 20 : The Maoists could provide the outgoing Nepal King Gyanendra with economic, social and cultural rights and benefits while abolishing monarchy.
"We want to bid farewell to the King in an honourable and respectful manner. He can be given economic, social and cultural rights," said Baburam Bhattarai, a senior Maoist leader on Saturday in an interview with Nepal Television.
However, Bhattarai did not elaborate what kind of cultural rights could be given, but hinted that the King could be provided with 'allowances.'
Maoist leadership is ready to hold talks with the King to facilitate the 'graceful exit' of monarchy, nepalnews.com quoted him as saying.
