Employees joint action to protest price rise
Srinagar, Apr 20: The Jammu and Kashmir Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) has decided to protest the price rise of essential commodities in the Kashmir valley tomorrow.
The EJAC said the government has failed to control the prices of essential commodities, affecting the common people, particularly those belonging to Below the Poverty Line (BPL).
It said the employees will join the demonstration against the rising prices tomorrow.
A number of trader's federations and unions have also expressed their concern over the price rise.
They said it had affected their business also.
The State Secretary of the Communist Party of India (M) has also expressed concern over the rising prices of essential commodities.
Meanwhile, to curb profiteering and hoarding and to ensure proper availability of essential commodities on reasonable rates in Anantnag district, the Deputy Commissioner has constituted market checking squads.
