Gurgaon, Apr 20 (UNI) Haryana Governor A R Kidwai today said that the weapon of 'non-violence' was far more stronger than the strength of power and all countries of the world will have to adopt non-violence for saving mankind from extinction.
He was speaking at a function of Jain Samaj after the unveiling of Lord Adinath statue near Bilaspur chowk here today.
The 27 feet high statue is the highest statue of Lord Adinath in the world. The Governor also unveiled a photograph of Acharya 108 Sri Shanti Sagar Ji Maharaj.
Addressing the audience on the occasion, Dr Kidwai said Lord Adinath in the pre-historic times taught mankind to grow food grains through agriculture and progress by acquiring knowledge. The message of non violence given by the Lord was more relevant in today's world of nuclear and chemicals weapons.
In India, Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi used non violence to end British rule in India.
On this occasion, Bhupinder Chaudhary, MLA Pataudi welcomed the Governor and hoped that the statue of Lord Adinath would be helpful in spreading the message of non-violence.
