Kannur, Apr 20 (UNI) Union Textiles Minister Shankersingh Vaghela today said the Centre would allot more textile parks in Kerala, particularly in the handloom city of Kannur, if the state government provided sufficent land.
Inaugurating a seminar on ''Kannur Vision-200'', organised by District Congress Committee here, he said the Centre was ready to allot textile projects in the district, if the state government provided sufficient land for the purpose.
The minister also assured that it would consider setting up an urban halt in the city to facilitate marketing of handicraft and handloom goods.
The Centre would also consider projects promoting development of handloom in the district, if the state government submitted more projects in this regard, he added.
State Industries Minister Elamaram Kareem, who also spoke, elaborated on the governments efforts to encourage the industrial climate in the state.
