Poor day for Indians in Volvo China Open

Beijing, Apr 19 (UNI) Indians had a poor outing as Gaganjeet Bhullar, Gaurav Ghei and SSP Chowrasia slipped in round three of the Volvo China Open after shooting ordinary rounds at the Volvo China Open Golf here today.

Bhullar (one over 217) shot one over par 73 in the third round and trails the leader, Ireland's Damien McGrane by twelve strokes.

The Indian (69, 75, 73) fell from overnight tied 23rd to tied 29th this afternoon.

The 19-year-old had a steady front nine making eight pars and a birdie on the second. His back nine started well with birdies on the 10th and 11th.

However, this was followed by a slump as he dropped bogeys on the 12th, 15th and 17th and a double bogey on the 14th. he then managed to close his round with a birdie on the 18th.

Ghei slipped from overnight tied 29th to tied 44th on day three with his total reading four over 220.

His third round 75 included birdies on the fifth and 17th, bogeys on the sixth, 13th and 16th and a double bogey on the eighth.

Chowrasia (74, 73, 76) is in tied 60th position with an overall score of seven over 223.

Double bogeys on the first and the 14th holes played spoilsport for Chowrasia. He also dropped bogeys on the fourth and eighth. His two birdies came on the third and 15th.
