Srinagar Apr 18 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police have arrested a shopkeeper who was selling duplicate tea in packets of branded companies in the city.
Station House Officer (SHO) Nowgam Nazir Ahmad Teli said complaints were received that a trader was selling sub-standard tea after packing it in Girnar packets.
He said later police raided the shop of one Sonaullah Dar, a resident of Tengpora and recovered 80 tea packets of 250 grams each packed in Girnar packs.
Mr Teli said 800 fake empty packs and labels of Girnar were also recovered from the shop He said the accused used to get fake labels of the popular tea brands printed and then used to fill them with cheap-third grade duplicate tea to sell it to customers.
