Bokaro, Apr 18 (UNI) Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) president and former coal minister Sibu Soren has said he would prefer to remain at his residence here during Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's proposed visit to the city if proper invitation was not extended to him.
''I will sit at my residence and can listen to the PM in comfort,'' was Mr Soren's reaction to the authorities' alleged negligence in showing courtesy to him, popularly called as ''guruji'' in the state.
Mr Singh is scheduled to arrive here on April 22 to lay the foundation for modernisation and expansion of the Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL).
Talking to newsmen here today, Mr Soren, MP from Dumka, expressed displeasure over the fact that he was not invited by the authorities or organisers concerned to share dais with Dr Singh.
''My residence is just 500 mt away from the venue of the Prime Minister's proposed programme and I will comfortably listen to Dr Singh's speech from my place, '' Mr Soren said.
''I don't know who prepared the list of dignitaries...I will not go to the site if not called with due respect, '' he stated.
Significantly, Mr Soren was the chairman of state UPA's steering committee, formed to monitor the functioning of the Madhu Koda-led government.
