Seven people killed in separate road accident
Mysore, Apr 18 (UNI) Seven people were killed and seven others seriously injured in two road accidents in Mysore and Mandya districts today.
Police said five people were killed and seven others injured when a lorry and a jeep collided head - on near Hunsur in Mysore.
While four people were killed on the spot, another person succumbed to injuries in Hunsur hospital.
The injured were admitted to K R Hospital in Mysore.
The jeep carrying 11 people was bound for K R Nagara from Periyapatna for a naming ceremony. The deceased were identified as Channamma (70), Saraswathamma (48), Ganguly (12), cleaner of the vehicle Nahyan (20). One body, that of the driver, was yet to be identified.
In a freak accident, two people were killed when two lorries rammed into a stationary tipper lorry at Nagathihalli in Mandya district.
The victims were identified as Vinya (27) and Anantharam (35).
