Jalgaon, Apr 17 (UNI) In an accident, seven people were killed on the spot and two injured when their van rammed a container from behind which had collided with a truck on National highway, near Bhusawal, in the district early today.
According to Bhusawal police, the container was en route to Kolkata from Mumbai, when the truck travelling at high speed came from the opposite direction and collided head-on with the container.
In this, the container driver died on the spot, while the truck driver was injured. The truck was on its way to Bhiwandi, near Bhusawal, from Raipur. At that time, the van, which was trailing the container, hit from rear. The impact was such that six persons in the van died on the spot, while one was injured.
The two injured have been admitted to a nearby private hospital, they added.
The dead were identified as Sheikh Babalal Sheikh Ramzan (55) of Muktainagar, Anil Bhaskar Patil (32) of Burhanpur in Madhya Pradesh, Anita Anil Patil (26) of Burhanpur (MP), Sheikh Shafi Sheikh Karim (55) of Surat in Gujarat, Pramod Ramchandra Hirolkar (25) of Muktainagar, Vijay Laxman Patil (22) of Muktainagar and Achit Avajesh Yadav (22) of Aurangabad, container driver.
