Security arrangements reviewed in view of PM's visit
Jamshedpur, Apr 18 (UNI) The Jharkhand Administration has reviewed the security arrangements for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit here on April 22.
Official sources said here today that top officials, including state Chief Secretary A K Basu and Director General of Police V D Ram held a meeting at the Archery ground of J R D Tata Sports Complex here yesterday, and reviewed the security arrangement.
The J R D Tata Sports Complex is the venue of the Prime Minister's visit.
The Prime Minister would arrive in the Steel city soon after laying a foundation stone for expansion and modernisation projects of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) on April 22.
Dr Singh would also lay the foundation of the ambitious 'Centenary City Centre' of Tata Steel, at Golmuri here.
He would also release a special stamp on Tata Steel issued by the postal department to commemorate the company's centennial year, sources said.
Meanwhile, a large hangar was being constructed at the sprawling sports complex, where Dr Singh would address the people before returning to New Delhi via Ranchi.
This will be Dr Singh's second visit to the Steel city after becoming the Prime Minister.
Earlier, he came here for an election campaign during the last Assembly polls.
