Pakistani Army jawan arrested by BSF in Jammu
Jammu, Apr 18 (UNI) A Pakistani soldier was arrested by BSF troops from international border at western Ranbir Singh Pura sector here in Jammu and Kashmir last night, an official spokesman today said today.
Sepoy Zahir Mohammad, son of Mohammad Wazir, resident of district Dir (Pakistan), was arrested in Ghirana area of R S Pura at around 2030 hrs yesterday, a BSF spokesman told UNI.
''Pakistani army jawan, who was without weapon and uniform, politely surrendered before BSF troops when challenged,'' the spokesman said.
During preliminary questioning, it was revealed that there was some disciplinary action initiated by the Pakistani army against Sepoy Zahir Mohammad due to which he had slipped away from his unit.
The jawan belonged to 11 Punjab regiment of Pakistan Army, the spokesman said.
An identity card and Rs 1,383 in Pakistani currency were also recovered from the jawan, he added.
