Maoists urge UML to be part of new government
Kathmandu, Apr 18 (UNI) Chairman of the Maoists Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachand has urged the CPN, UML party to be part of the government to be led by the Maoist.
During a meeting with the CPN, UML former General Secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal yesterday, Mr Prachand said the UML should cooperate with the new government.
UML has already left the government as all the seven ministers representing the party in the interim cabinet have resigned.
Nepali Congress has decided to stay in the government until the first meeting of the CA to be held within a few weeks time. The first meeting of the CA will decide the future of monarchy.
Maoists leaders have already made it clear that the monarchy will be abolished on the first day of the CA meeting.
They have also urged King Gyanendra to leave the Narayanhity Royal palace within a month. Talking to BBC Nepali Service Dr Baburam Bhattarai said, ''We want the king to go gracefully.'' Maoist Party has emerged as the largest party in the CA polls held last week. Maoist has got 119 seats, Nepali Congress 35, CPN, UML 31 and MJF 24 when the result of 226 seats were published.
