Council Chairman Chandrasekhar rules out contesting polls
Bangalore, Apr 18 (UNI) Karnataka Legislative Council Chairman Prof B K Chandrasekhar today ruled out the possibility of his contesting next month's elections to the State Assembly on a Congress ticket.
In a statement here, he said that though his name had been selected for contesting from the Jayanagar segment in the city, he would not contest.
''I am satisfied with the Council Chairman post and there is enough opportunity to do meaningful and creative work. So I would like to continue in the Council,'' he said.
The Congress is likely to come out with its first list of candidates for the three-phased assembly elections, today.
