Hyderabad, Apr 18 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party, which facilitated the formation of three new states earlier, could only ensure Statehood to Telangana, Party Andhra Pradesh Spokesman N Ramachandra Rao said today.
Speaking at a press conference here, he noted that the party's Prime Ministerial candidate L K Advani had already come out in support of Statehood to Telangana.
Mr Rao dismissed as ''election stunt'', TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu's reported statement that his party was not averse to the formation of Telangana State.
The party Election Management Committee would meet on April 20 to decide the party candidates for the byelections to four Lok Sabha and 18 Assembly seats on May 29.
Contending that ''injustice'' had been meted out to those whose lands had been acquired for Special Economic Zones, he wanted the Congress Government to come out with a white paper on the lands assigned to corporate firms.
