Azad for ''basic amenities'' at village level
Jammu, Apr 18 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today said the development offensive launched by his government is guided by his commitment to equal distribution of resources and facilities in the state besides providing ''basic amenities'' to the people at village level.
Speaking at a meeting of District Development Board at Kishtwar, Mr Azad said, ''Such brisk activities have never been seen in the state's development arena.'' The meeting approved Rs 33.13 crore annual plan for 2008-09 for the newly created Kishtwar district. ''My prime concern is to make J&K a frontrunner state where people, even in the remotest corner, have basic amenities easily available,'' he said, adding, that infrastructure in road, health care, education, drinking water and power is being developed and upgraded at the village level.
