AIADMK leader terms suspension as 'murder of democracy'
Puducherry, Apr 18 (UNI) AIADMK Puducherry secretary A Anbazhagan, MLA, today termed the suspension of party members from the Assembly as ''murder of democracy''.
In a statement here, he claimed that the DMK members intervened during the discussion on the calling attention motion he moved on price rise and made ''unparliamentary remarks'' against him when he noted that AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa had demanded a CBI probe into the smuggling of 16,000 tonnes of PDS rice from Tamil Nadu through Puducherry to other States and granted permission to the local unit to organise an agitation in this regard.
Mr Anbazhagan alleged the Speaker denied him permission to speak and suspended the AIADMK members at the instance of the Congress and DMK members and evicted them from the House using Marshals.
He criticised Chief Minister N Rangasamy's statement that ''those hoarding essential commodities are responsible for the price rise,'' instead of initiating action against them.
