Kannur, Apr 17 (UNI) Sporting Club De Goa held a goal less draw with Ferroviaria S/A FC, Brazil in the E K Nayanar Memorial Gold Cup International Football Tournament held here today.
Brazil's Robinson Michel bagged the man of the match award.
The match ended on a one-sided note as Brazil frontline and midefield functioned like a well-oiled machine. Goans, however, concentrated on well-drilled defence. In the 56th minute, Levy Fernades shot was saved smartly by Brazil custodian Jacviel Segala.
In the 70th minute, Brazils Washington Luis scored, but he was ruled offside by referee Dinesh Nair. However, Goans made valiant attempts in the last five minutes, but their attempts went in vain.
Tomorrow's match between Kerala X1 and Sporting Club De, Goa would decide the semi-finalists from Group-A, Brazil and Goa secured four points each, while Kerala gained three and Mohammedan AC yet to open its account.
Kerala X1 needs only a draw to reach the last four. Goa, however, is in a must win situation to book a berth in semis.
