Security breach near Le Meridien, three Tibetans detained
New Delhi, Apr 17 (UNI) Just hours ahead of the Olympic Torch relay in Delhi, Tibetan protestors today breached the security ring outside Le Meridien, where the Torch has been kept.
At least three Tibetan protestors were detained for attempting to breach the security barricades put by the Delhi Police outside the hotel, second such incident since this morning.
In the morning too, Police and Rapid Action Force personnel detained some Tibetan protestors for trying to break the security cordon around the hotel.
In fact, around 30 Tibetans assembled outside the high-security Hotel since this morning and shouted anti-China slogans.
While trying to break the police barricade outside the hotel, the protestors started 'Justice for Tibet' and 'We want freedom' slogans at about 0330 hrs.
The torch arrived in New Delhi at around 0110 hrs from Islamabad.
