Sambalpur, Apr 17 (UNI) Movement of train services in the Jharsuguda- Titlagarh route in Western Orissa was totally paralysed today due to a rail-roko at Attabira station in Bargarh district.
The Attabira lawyers association, led by its president Birendra Banka, and residents of the entire region squatted on the track, demanding stoppages for all express trains at Attabira, a station in the middle of Sambalpur and Bargarh.
Attabira Tehsil under Hirakud command area inhabited by people from all walks of life ,is considered as the food bowl of the state.
The Attabira Banika Sangha, Koshal-Andhra cultural association, Youth Forum and many other organisations of Bargarh district joined the rail roko agitation The agitation was withdrawn only after Assistant Commercial Manager of Sambalpur Railway Division S N Basky apprised the demonstrators of the action being taken by the Railway Board on the demands.
