PCB Chairman to face Senate sports committee on April 26

By Staff

Karachi, Apr 17 : Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Nasim Ashraf will appear before the Senate's Standing Committee on Sports, which will evaluate his performance as chief.

Enver Baig, a key member of the committee, told 'The News' that the meeting would be focused on Ashraf and his performance as PCB chairman since 2006.

"We have a brief agenda for the meeting and our primary task will be ascertain whether he (Ashraf) has been able to justify his position as PCB chief," said Baig, who is also a member of the Pakistan People's Party.

The meeting would also discuss the Pakistan cricket team's performance during Ashraf's tenure as PCB chairman.

"I believe that Pakistan should be counted among the world's best cricket teams but sadly that is not the case at the moment," said Baig.

"During the previous meeting, we were unable to discuss anything but Shoaib Akhtar. This time we would focus on the performance of the national team and the PCB chief," he added.
