Patiala, Apr 17 (UNI) Three men and two women fencers will represent India in the Olympic Qualifying Fencing Tournament slated for April 22 in Bangkok, according to Fencing Association of India Secretary-General Arun Vij.
The men fencers are Sanjeev Suri from Jammu and Kashmir (Epee), Vijay Kumar of Services Sports Control Board (Foil) and Rashid Ahmed from Jammu and Kashmir (Sabre). The women fencers are Kavita from Assam (Epee) and Diana from Manipur (Sabre).
The coaches are Vikram (Jammu and Kashmir) and Jamwal (Services Sports Control Board).
Meanwhile, in the Senior Asian Fencing Championship slated for April 25 to 29 in Bangkok seven men fencers and four women fencers will represent India.
The Men fencers who will participate in the championship are Vijay Kumar, Shobha Raj and Shobha Singh (Foil), Sanjiv Suri, Sholin Meetei and Rohit Gangadhar (Epee), Rashid Ahmed (Sabre). The Women fencers are Kavita and Lakshmi (Epee), Diana and Gita (Sabre).
