Education official in vigilance net in Kashmir
Srinagar, Apr 17: Jammu and Kashmir Vigilance Organisation (VO) arrested an employee in the education department after he was caught red handed accepting a bribe.
A spokesman of the VO said a complaint was received from a teacher, Mumtaz Ahmad Khan, alleging that Farooq Ahmad Shah, Senior Assistant in the office of Zonal Education Office (ZEO) at Shangus in Anantnag, was demanding a bribe of Rs 250 for releasing a pending bill of Rs 11,378 for the Mid Day meals of primary school 'Rakh Brah Kuthar'.
He said a trap was laid and the accused was caught red handed while accepting bribe from Khan. The ''tainted'' money was recovered from the possession of the accused in presence of an independent witness.
