Comedy album 'Ghasita Canada Vich' released

Jalandhar, Apr 17 (UNI) New comedy video album produced and scripted by Santa and Banta, 'Ghasita Canada Vich' was today released here.

During the film release, well-known comedy artiste Balwinder Vicky said,''The movie, which is released by Shemroo Entertainment Pvt Ltd in India, is an outcome of collaboration between friends settled in India and in Canada. It is a story highlighting the problems arising out of fanciful desire of Punjabi youth to settle in Canada or elsewhere.'' The album is clean, decent, devoid of any vulgarity and could be enjoyed by all the family members together, he said adding that the movie has some very good shots from Canada and typical rural Punjab.

He informed that Santa and Banta are well known comic characters in Punjabi television, radio and stage show and have been into comedy video production for the last 10 years and had produced and directed many comedy films and programmes like ''Jara Socho''.

''Their biggest assets of Santa and Banta is the spontaneity of their script, which is inspired by current social issues presented in a satirical manner,''he said.

''Ghugghi Choo Mantar'' produced in 2005 was an instant hit with the audience as well as with the critics, he said adding that the album was awarded Best Comedy Film award by ETC Punjabi in that same year.

The main character was played by Lakhwinder Bhand and apart from Santa and Banta themselves, the other actors include Sukhbir, Dolly Malkiyat, Daljit Kanda, Ashwini Bharadwaj, Mangat Ram Chadha, Sandeep, Saran, Satnam Mota among others, he said. The film is directed by Vikram Gover, he added.
