AP: CM launches Orange Radio Cabs in city
Hyderabad, Apr 17: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today launched Orange Radio cabs at Meekosam Board near NTR Gardens in the city.
The GPRS-enabled Radio cabs with alarm signals and special radio equipment would provide adequate security to commuters.
Equipped with electronic chips, radio cabs would be connected to a central server at a call centre. The movement of the cabs would be monitored on a special screen throughout the day, irrespective of the route the vehicle operates on, Thirumala Cabs Managing Partner M Sunil Kumar said in a release here.
These air-conditioned metered taxis with a printing facility within the car are adhered strictly by the Government's existing regulations, he added.
Transport Minister K Laxminarayana, MLAs P Sudarshan Reddy and A Indrakaran Reddy, MLC B Mohan Reddy and AP Transport Commissioner Raymond Peter, were among those present on the occasion.
