India Open Yoga Championship to begin from April 19

Jamshepdur, Apr 16 (UNI) The Fourth India Open Yoga Championship will be held at the Michael John Audotorium here on April 19-20.

About 500 contestants from 15 states will participate in the two-day yoga championship, jointly organised by Tata Steel and Karmakar Institute of Yoga here.

Tata Steel sports chief Sanjeeva Singh told newpersons here today that seven international Yoga practitioners from Hong Kong, Bangkok, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan would be present on the occasion.

Tata Steel also organised five coaching camps in different areas for training about 500 yoga practitioners as a precursor to the championship, Mr Singh said.

The championship would be held in different groups in boys and girls categories as well as sub-junior, junior, senior and veteran categories.
