CPI(M) bandh fails to evoke response in Orissa
Bhubaneswar, Apr 16: The 24-hour bandh called by CPI(Maoists) since midnight last night virtually had no impact in Orissa. Schools, colleges, offices and commercial establishments remained opened and business was conducted as usual. Vehicles were plying normal.
The bandh also had no impact in the Naxal-affected areas of the state. The bandh has been called in five states namely West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa and Chhattisgarh by CPI (M) to protest the killing of their cadres in police encounter in Garwah district on April 1.
