New Delhi, Apr 16 : The seventh meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Group (IMG) to review development schemes in the Naxal hit areas of 33 districts of Jharkhand, Gaya and Aurangabad was held here today.
The two-hour long meeting was chaired by the Additional Secretary Vinay Kumar (Naxal Management) in the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The meeting reviewed the list of priority development schemes of all developmental departments for the 33 districts that have been taken up for special attention on development, and review preparation of road requirement plan.
It clearly determined the course of action in respect of development measures envisaged in the integrated security and development action plans of Chatra and Palamau Districts of Jharkhand, Gaya and Aurangabad of Bihar. The sixth IMG meeting was held on February 5, 2008 in New Delhi.
The IMG has been created in the Ministry of Home Affairs to review, monitor and ensure the implementation of the Government's scheme for socio-economic development.
It has Members drawn from Developmental Ministries and it oversees effective implementation of developmental programmes in naxal-affected areas.
The Naxalites operate across 13 states running up from the eastern flank of the country.
