Two held from 'rave party' in Guwahati
Guwahati, Apr 15 (UNI) A 'rave party' in the capital city turned into a scary occasion for some teenage revellers when police arrived on the scene in the wee hours today after neighbours complained of illegal activities.
Police said the rave was organized by one Dipak Bhatia in Joypur area of Kharghuli in the city, on the premises he had hired from one Rajiv Baruah.
Both are businessmen and have been arrested following the incident. Baruah has denied any connection with the party, stating that he had only rented out the premise to Bhatia.
About 25 boys and girls were also nabbed by the police, who were later released.
Alcohol bottles were found at the spot and several couples were in a compromising position when the police arrived at the venue at about 0300 hours.
Police also suspect that drugs were being circulated in the party and are investigating the possibility, with residents of the area alleging that drugs and other illegal activities took place in the house.
