Tendulkar denies rift in Team India

By Staff

New Delhi, Apr 15 (UNI) Rubbishing rumours of a rift between seniors and juniors in Team India, Sachin Tendulkar today said all players have cordial relations with each other.

''All these rumours (that there is a rift between juniors and seniors in the team) are baseless,'' Tendulkar told Aaj Tak.

''I don't know who spreads these rumours and the real motives behind all this,'' he added. ''That there is a rift between seniors and juniors in the team is not true.

''All of us stay together (while on tours), joke around and enjoy. It is only on the field that we are serious.'' On being asked whether he is fit to play again, Tendulkar said,''I am a little disappointed that I was not able to play in the two important matches against South Africa and I am yet to recover fully from the injury.'' The Physiotherapist and the doctor had earlier advised me rest and now they have given me the exercises and I am following their advice,'' he added.

The Master Blaster denied media reports that he wanted to play in the 2011 World Cup.

''I have never said that I want to play during 2011 World Cup.'' he clarified. ''I was asked in an interview if I want to play in the 2011 World Cup and my reply was I don't think about the future or the past, I only live in the present.'' Tendulkar was exicited at the prospect of facing longtime teammate Sourav Ganguly and old friend Shah Rukh Khan, who is patronising the Kolkata Knightriders in the IPL.

''I am looking forward to the reception in Kolkata, Sourav will invite us over dinner and I will also speak to Shahrukh then,'' he remarked.
