London, Apr.15 : A teacher, who was sacked by an Islamic school has won almost 70,000 pounds as compensation for unfair dismissal for pointing out that the school was using "race hate" textbooks.
According to The Sun, Colin Cook alleged that the King Fahad Academy in Acton, West London, used a Saudi curriculum preaching racial hatred and anti-Semitism.
He told a tribunal in Watford that the textbooks asked pupils to name the "repugnant characteristics of Jews".
The tribunal ruled that 58-year-old Cook had been unfairly dismissed after blowing the whistle on students cheating in GCSE English exams.
He alleged he had a mole on the staff who later told him: "They were teaching students that Christians were pigs. The school is racist and the books are racist."
The English teacher, of Feltham, West London, was awarded 69,300 pounds for lost earnings and injury to feelings, but lost a race discrimination claim.
The school denies teaching racial hatred.
