Permission denied to Uma Bharti for proposed march to Tibet
Dehradun, Apr 15 (UNI) The District Administration of Chamoli has denied permission to Bharatiya Jan Shakti Chief Uma Bharti to lead her proposed march to Tibet in view of it being a ''restricted'' area.
Talking to UNI, District Magistrate, Chamoli D S Gabriyal said Ms Bharti was denied permission to march to the Indo-Tibet border with her supporters in view of it being ''not only a restricted area, but also clearly out-of-bounds''.
The District Administration of Chamoli has however allowed the firebrand leader, who is presently in Joshimath, to address a one hour public rally there.
The district administration has been wary of her determined bid to express solidarity for the cause of an independent Tibet by marching to the border in view of the forthcoming municipal elections in Uttarakhand.
Initial reports had also predicited that the former Madya Pradesh Chief Minister's trek to the Malari border could land in a stumbling block because of heavy glacial activites along the route.
