More than 11 million domestic air passengers in Q108
New Delhi, Apr 15 (UNI) The scheduled airlines carried 11.90 million domestic passengers during January-March 2008, a rise of more than 10 per cent over the same quarter in the previous year, with Jet Airways beating Air India by 900,000 passengers, and IndoGo doubling its share to 1.152 million.
In the first quarter of this year, Jet Airways carried the maximum of 2.54 million domestic passengers, followed by Air India 1.64 milliom, Deccan 1.639 million, Kingfisher 1.626 million, SpiceJet 1.155 million, IndiGo 1.152, Jet Lite 790,000, GoAir 492,000 and Paramount 142,000, official statistics released here today said.
During the same period last year, the figures for Jet Airways were 2.432 million, Air India 1.93 million, Deccan 1.877 million, Kingfisher 1.071 million, SpiceJet and Jet Lite 816,000 each, IndiGo 502,000, GoAir 472,000 and Paramount 152,000.
In percentage terms, Jet Airways carried 22.7 per cent of the total domestic passengers during Q1 2008, followed by Air India 14.7 per cent, Deccan 14.6, Kingfisher 14.5 per cent, SpiceJet and IndiGo 10.3 per cent each, GoAir 4.4 per cent and Paramount 1.3 per cent.
During the same period last year, the percentage for Jet Airways was 24.2, Air India 19.2, Deccan 18.6, Kingfisher 10.6, SpiceJet and Jet Lite 8.1 each, IndiGo 5.0, GoAir 4.7 and Paramount 1.5.
