TRS protest mars Ambedkar Jayanthi celebrations
Hyderabad, Apr 14: The 118th birth anniversary celebrations of of B R Ambedkar, Chief architect of the Indian Constitution, was marred by protests by activists of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti(TRS) against the main opposition Telugu Desam Party(TDP).
Even as Mr Naidu paid floral tributes to the late leader, TRS activists raised slogans against the TDP for remaining a ''stumbling block'' in the creation of separate Telangana State.
Tense situation prevailed in the tank-bund area for some time as a strong contingent of police personnel posted for the security VVIPs, had a tough time in preventing the irate TRS activists from surging ahead.
The activists demanded that the TDP give up its ''adamant'' attitude to bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
It may be noted that the TDP had opposed division of the State in its submission before the UPA Cabinet Sub-Committee chaired by the External Affairs Minister, Pranab Mukherjee.
