LJP may contest next Lok Sabha elections alone: Paswan
Samastipur, Apr 14 (UNI) National vice-president of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) Ramchandra Paswan today said his party was prepared to contest the coming Lok Sabha elections on its own if the agreement for seat adjustment was not reached with the UPA allies.
Mr Paswan told newspersons here that the LJP could emerge as a viable alternative of the RJD and the BJP in Bihar if the Congress, CPI(M), NCP and other like-minded parties lent a helping hand to it in constituting a secular front to counter the saffron brigade in the state.
'' The LJP is in a strong position to field its candidates in 16 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, '' Mr Paswan maintained saying that it would hold parleys with the like-minded parties to seek their support in the next Parliamentary election.
He said the LJP could give a serious thought on contesting the Lok Sabha election with the JD(U) in Bihar if it severed its ties with the BJP.
Mr Paswan announced that he would fight from Samastipur Lok Sabha seat, which was declared as reserved constituency by the Delimitation Commission.
