ITC Welcomgroup Hotels is DLF IPL hospitality partner

Mumbai, Apr 14 (UNI) The DLF Indian Premier League today announced that ITC Welcomgroup Hotels, Palaces and Resorts, the country's leading chain of hotels, has been chosen as the preferred hospitality partner for the league.

As per the agreement, ITC Welcomgroup will play host to the cricketers and league officials of the DLF Indian Premier League catering to their hospitality, food and beverage needs.

Lalit Modi, Chairman and Commissioner, DLF Indian Premier League said, ''I am very pleased to have the country's leading chain of hotels, resorts and palaces join us as the preferred hospitality partner of the DLF Indian Premier League. I am certain that the cricketers and officials alike will enjoy the traditional Indian hospitality and world-class standards that the ITC-Welcomgroup is renowned for.'' He stated, ''this relationship further bears testimony to the fact that the DLF Indian Premier League is here to stay and is set to carve out a distinct niche for itself in the international cricketing calendar.'' ITC Hotels Division Divisional Chief Executive Nakul Anand said, ''We are delighted to partner with the DLF Indian Premier League. Especially, since the League embodies a spirit of true cricket excellence, with players from across the globe and India pitting their skills against each other, a spirit of excellence similar to what pervades at all ITC-Welcomgroup properties in key business and leisure locations. I am certain all the players and officials in the DLF Indian Premier League will enjoy our hospitality, during the fortyfour days of intense competition.'' The DLF Indian Premier League is all set to kick off on April 18, with some high voltage action expected between Shah Rukh Khan's Kolkata Knight Riders and Dr Vijay Mallya's Bangalore Royal Challengers at the Chinnaswamy Stadium at Bangalore.

The DLF Indian Premier League will feature eight Franchises and will run for 44 days. Each Franchise will play others on a home and away basis with 7 matches at home. The top 4 Franchises in the league will contest the semi finals and the victorious semi finalists will meet in the Grand Final all over one weekend, which will be played out in Mumbai.
