Fishermen reach safely after being stranded
Puducherry, Apr 14 (UNI) Five Puducherry fishermen who were stranded in the sea for the last eight days safely returned to the shore early this morning.
According to police, five fishermen of Vambakeerappalayam ventured into the sea in a mechanised vessel, owned by one Raja, on April six and were scheduled to return to the shore on April nine.
However, they could not return to the shore as the engine of their boat got damaged.
The fishermen of Vambakeerappalayam informed the matter to Chief Minister N Rangasamy, who had asked the Coast Guard to conduct a search operation.
The Coast Guard could not trace them albeit their helicopter was utilised.
In the meantime, all the fishermen reached home safely early this morning after getting the engine of their boat repaired. They also called on the Chief Minsiter.
