Lahore, Apr 14 : PML-Q parliamentary leader and former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said that former premier Nawaz Sharif was behind the reduction in his security, and that the Sharif brothers will be held responsible if he or his family members were attacked.
He said that his and his family's lives were in danger and an FIR must be registered against the Sharif brothers in case of any harm to him or his family.
The former CM criticised the PML-N for blaming him for using bulletproof cars and spending millions of rupees on the CM Secretariat during his stint as Punjab chief minister.
Pervaiz said he had used bulletproof cars because the Punjab Home Secretary had asked him to take precautionary measures for him and his family's security. "The federal government has also asked me to use bullet-proof vehicles, besides taking other precautionary measures," The News quoted Elahi as saying.
He alleged that the newly elected Punjab CM was using 12 cars, and said that after its failure to provide relief to the people, the present Punjab government was leveling baseless allegation against the PML-Q leadership to divert the public attention from real problems.
